Chinese coy says expo’ll foster trade cooperation, boost infrastructural dev’t in Africa

Abuja, November 30, 2024- Mr Wu Kaimeng General Manager of Liugong West Africa has emphasised the importance of expo in fostering trade cooperation and enhancing infrastructure development across Africa.

Wu stated this during an interview with Africa China News during the 3rd China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) Exhibition in Africa (Nigeria) which brought together more than 100 companies from Hunan Province in China.

He explained that Liugong is a Chinese multinational company that manufactures construction machinery, including wheel loaders, skid steers, MEWPs, and EV machines

“Our company is a leading manufacturer in China, established in 1958, producing various machinery such as wheel loaders, excavators, motor graders, rollers, bulldozers, mining trucks, forklift trucks, and concrete equipment.

Wu also highlighted that the exhibition aims to strengthen economic ties between China and African nations, facilitating investment opportunities and technology transfer.

“I have over a decade of experience working in West Africa, particularly in Nigeria and thesr exhibition in Abuja holds great significance for our products, which are beneficial for Nigeria’s infrastructure development.

“We believe that the expo will serve as a platform for dialogue and partnership, ultimately contributing to sustainable economic growth and improved living standards across the continent,”. He said.

He also noted the strong relationship between China and Africa, exemplified by the recent Sino-African summit and the cooperation with Chinese companies like CGC in Nigeria.

“ As Africa continues to emerge as a significant player in the global economy, this initiative reflects China’s commitment to supporting the region’s development aspirations,”. He stated

Africa China News also recalls that the third session of CAETE, held in Changsha, Hunan, in June 2023, covered 100,000 square meters and resulted in 120 signed projects valued at $10.3 billion.

Over 1,700 exhibitors from Chinese and African enterprises, business associations, and financial institutions participated.

In May 2024, the inaugural China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo in Africa took place in Nairobi, resulting in 43 signed projects worth $1.402 billion.
