The smart robot industry in China has experienced substantial growth, with the number of enterprises reaching an impressive 451,700 by the end of 2024.
According to the State Administration for Market Regulation, these enterprises boast a total registered capital of 6.44 trillion yuan (approximately 880 billion U.S. dollars).
This marks a robust 19.39 percent increase compared to the end of 2023, indicating a steady upward trend in the industry’s development. Nearly 80 percent of these enterprises are concentrated in three key sectors:
- Scientific research and technical services
- Information transmission, software, and information technology services
- Wholesale and retail
The eastern region of China has emerged as a critical hub for the smart robot industry, hosting about two-thirds of the total enterprises. This success is attributed to the region’s favorable geographical advantages, strong research and development capabilities, and a well-established industrial ecosystem.
In contrast, the central and northwestern regions of China account for 15.33 percent and 14.97 percent of the total number of enterprises, respectively. This distribution highlights the potential for growth and innovation in these areas as the industry continues to expand.
As the smart robot industry evolves, it not only contributes significantly to China’s economy but also positions the country as a key player in the global technological landscape, reflecting its commitment to advancing automation and robotics.
