Africa China News and Leadership Newspaper Unite to Foster Africa-China Relations*

In a bid to promote cultural exchange and strengthen ties between Nigeria, Africa, and China, Mr. Zheng Xiaopeng, CEO and Publisher of Africa China News (ACN), paid an official visit to the Editorial Team of Leadership Newspaper, Abuja.

The visit was aimed at fostering mutual understanding and collaborative initiatives between the two media organizations.

During the visit, Mr. Zheng presented ACN’s mission to the Leadership Newspaper team, emphasizing the significance of cultural exchange in advancing relationships between Nigeria, other African nations and China.

While highlighting some of the recent achievements of the ACN, Mr. Zheng Xiaopeng, among others, noted thus;’ “ACN has engaged with 24 African embassies in Nigeria as part of its outreach efforts and as the CEO, it is my utmost desire to involve the Leadership Newspaper in ACN-organized events. I also wish to propose a reciprocal arrangement for ACN’s participation in Leadership Newspaper programmes”, he stated.

”My proposal is simple and strategic. I welcome this impeccable team of the Leadership Newspaper to join the Africa China News forum as a special member. The forum is set to feature prominent news agencies within and outside Nigeria to create a collaborative network that promotes cultural awareness and exchanges between China and Africa at large.

We can leverage this partnership to enjoy mutual access to news and other media contents and publications as they relate with our shared vision and, by so doing, broaden the reach of both media outlets”, he said.

On their part, the Leadership Newspaper delegation led by Mr. Bayo Amodu, Head of Story, voiced strong support for ACN’s vision. The team commended ACN’s mission to promote Nigerian and African culture and recognized the need to reshape how Nigeria’s cultural narrative is presented globally.

Both parties further agreed to formalize the partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), setting the stage for future collaborations that underscore the significance of cultural diplomacy and media

cooperation.
