Abuja, December 2, 2024- At the recently concluded 3rd China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE), held in Nigeria, over 100 companies from Hunan Province, China, showcased their innovations and services, emphasising their commitment to fostering trade cooperation and enhancing infrastructural, agricultural and renewable energy development across Africa.
In an exclusive interview with Africa China News, several representatives from Hunan-based firms expressed their enthusiasm for the expo, highlighting its role as a bridge for economic collaboration between China and African nations.
The event attracted a diverse range of industries, including construction, renewable energy, technology, and agriculture, reflecting the vast opportunities for partnership.
“Engaging in CAETE has broadened our perspective,” remarked Mr. Wu Kaimeng, General Manager of Liugong West Africa, a construction firm from Hunan.
He expressed optimism that the expo would facilitate deeper trade connections and offer essential backing for Africa’s infrastructural progress, crucial for its development.
Liugong is a prominent Chinese multinational corporation that manufactures construction machinery, including wheel loaders, skid steers, MEWPs, and EV machines.
Wu also stressed that the exhibition aims to fortify economic bonds between China and African nations, enabling investment prospects and technology exchange.
“With extensive experience working in West Africa, notably Nigeria, this expo in Abuja is pivotal for our products, which are instrumental for Nigeria’s infrastructure enhancement,” Wu noted.
“We anticipate the expo to function as a platform for dialogue and collaboration, ultimately fostering sustainable economic advancement and elevating living standards across the continent,” he added.
He also acknowledged the robust China-Africa relationship, exemplified by the recent Sino-African summit and collaborations with Chinese enterprises like CGC in Nigeria.
“As Africa cements its position in the global economy, this initiative showcases China’s commitment to supporting the region’s developmental goals,” he emphasized.
Lovina .A. Ogim, Sales Representative at Green Agriculture West Africa Limited (GAWAL), commented on the exhibition’s opportunities for agricultural collaboration and enhanced food production.
She elucidated that CGCOC Group Co. Ltd. initiated agricultural investment by establishing Green Agriculture West Africa Ltd. (GAWAL) in Nigeria in 2006.
GAWAL has emerged in Nigeria not only as a distinguished large-scale seed producer but also as an all-encompassing agricultural enterprise involved in agricultural machinery, construction and operation of agriculture industrial park, agro-processing, agricultural training, agro-product trading, and agricultural consultancy.
Moreover, Liu Meihua, CEO of Hunan Dongfanghong Electromechanical Manufacturing Co., Ltd., expressed gratitude for the expo’s timeliness, emphasizing agriculture’s significance for a country’s sustainable progress.
The company, founded in 2004, is situated in Wulipai Economic Development Zone, Shuangfeng County, Hunan Province.
It specializes in YL series double-value capacitor single-phase asynchronous motors and various agricultural machinery products known for their practicality, stability, and reliable performance.
Additionally, Ms. Yangyan, Sales Manager at Hunan Chenzhou Grain and Oil Machinery Co., Ltd., expressed intentions to introduce their products to the Nigerian market and later expand to other African nations.
Furthermore, Johnny, Deputy General Manager of Chongqing STARS New Energy Vehicle Charging Service Co., Ltd., highlighted the expo as an opportunity to exhibit cutting-edge technologies, particularly in renewable energy and smart city solutions.
He emphasized the rising demand in Africa for sustainable energy solutions and the company’s dedication to offering innovations for a greener future.
