NACCIMA Deepens Nigeria-China Trade Relations with Strategic Tour of Guangzhou Factories

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has stepped up efforts to deepen economic cooperation between Nigeria and China through a strategic industrial tour of major manufacturing and commercial centres in Guangzhou.

The high-level engagement, led by members of the Nigerian private sector delegation, focused on exploring new investment opportunities, strengthening bilateral trade relations and facilitating industrial partnerships capable of boosting Nigeria’s manufacturing capacity and export competitiveness.

During the visit, the delegation toured several factories and industrial facilities across Guangzhou, one of China’s leading manufacturing and trade hubs, where discussions centred on technology transfer, industrial innovation, machinery supply, renewable energy solutions and opportunities for joint ventures with Nigerian businesses.

NACCIMA said the visit forms part of ongoing efforts to position Nigeria as a stronger participant in global value chains while encouraging Chinese manufacturers to establish production and assembly operations in Nigeria.

The delegation also engaged Chinese business leaders and trade officials on ways to improve access for Nigerian products into the Chinese market, especially in agriculture, solid minerals, textiles and light manufacturing.

Speaking during the tour, NACCIMA representatives stressed the importance of stronger private-sector collaboration between both countries, noting that Nigeria’s large consumer market, youthful population and strategic location in West Africa offer enormous opportunities for Chinese investors seeking expansion into Africa.

They added that closer cooperation with Chinese industries could help accelerate Nigeria’s industrialisation agenda, create jobs, improve skills development and support the country’s push for economic diversification beyond oil.

Chinese manufacturers that hosted the delegation expressed interest in expanding commercial partnerships with Nigerian firms, particularly in sectors such as electric vehicles, construction materials, agro-processing equipment and clean energy technology.

The Guangzhou industrial tour is expected to pave the way for future trade agreements, investment missions and business-to-business partnerships aimed at enhancing economic growth and strengthening long-term Nigeria-China relations.
