On Wednesday, November 20, Mr. Zheng Xiaopeng, the CEO/Chairman of Africa China News (ACN), held a meeting with some management staff of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA).
The meeting was convened at the NTA Headquarters, Abuja, to discuss a potential collaboration to promote African culture and facilitate mutual understanding and cooperation between African countries and China.
The meeting brought together different personalities from both organizations including; Mrs. Oganya Simon, General Manager, NTA, Mrs Mary Anyui, GDF, NTA International, Mr. John, DDE of NTA, Mrs. Salawatu, DGM of NTA International and Miss Comfort, Reporter of NTA international, among others.
Mr. Zheng Xiaopeng, the CEO of Africa China News introduced the medium’s mission, which according to him, is to showcase African values and culture across other African countries and in particular, the Chinese community. Further, the CEO also noted that ACN is poised to translate news in different African and Chinese languages and as such, promote cross-cultural understanding across the globe.
The General Manager of NTA, Mrs. Oganya Simon, who received the CEO and his team, welcomed the partnership proposed by the ACN and in addition, appreciated ACN’s efforts in promoting African tribes and culture. She noted that NTA has shown programs showcasing literature, art, culture, food, kingdoms and places of Nigeria and other African countries, as well as live programs every Saturday, over the past 10 years”.
”The NTA, with over 100 stations across Nigeria and broadcasting to other African countries like Ghana, expressed enthusiasm for this collaboration”, she said.
It is pertinent to state that as ACN and NTA move forward with the collaboration, this partnership will no doubt foster deeper understanding, thereby enhancing the preservation of cultural diversity between many African countries and China in the near future.
