ACCBCF Reaffirms Commitment to Nigeria–China Industrial Cooperation

The Africa China Chairmen of Business Council Forum (ACCBCF) has restated its commitment to strengthening industrial cooperation between Nigeria and China following a high-level meeting with the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment in Abuja on Tuesday.

The delegation, led by National Chairman Chief Mike Yousuf Ugwu (Zheng Xiaopeng), paid a courtesy visit to the honourable Minister of state for industry, trade and investment. John Owan Enoh, to deepen discussions on economic collaboration.

During the meeting, both sides focused on key areas including industrial empowerment, manufacturing development, industrial upgrading, and trade transformation. The discussions centred on building a stronger real-sector partnership aimed at attracting investment and boosting Nigeria’s industrial capacity through China–Africa cooperation.

The Minister described the Nigeria China partnership as highly strategic, noting Nigeria’s growing population and large consumer market as major advantages for industrial expansion. He highlighted the Federal Government’s new industrial policy launched in February 2025, which emphasizes local production, value addition, and reduced reliance on raw material exports.

The Minister called for increased Chinese investment in manufacturing industries in Nigeria, saying it would create jobs, strengthen the local economy, and improve the country’s export structure. He also assured that government would continue to provide a supportive business environment and protect the interests of investors operating in Nigeria.

In response, ACCBCF reaffirmed its readiness to facilitate more Chinese investment into Nigeria’s industrial and agricultural sectors. The forum also disclosed ongoing preparations for a Chinese delegation visit and proposed academic cooperation between Chinese and Nigerian institutions. Both sides expressed optimism that the partnership will accelerate Nigeria’s industrial growth and deepen China–Africa economic relations.
