BREAKING: China Warns Trump Against Military Intervention in Nigeria

The Chinese government has warned US President Donald Trump against any form of military intervention in Nigeria, stating that it firmly supports President Bola Tinubu as it “leads its people on the development path suited to its national conditions”.

This position was announced at a press conference on Tuesday by the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning.

Ning was answering a question on US President Donald Trump’s threat of military action in Nigeria over the alleged persecution of Christians.

“As Nigeria’s comprehensive strategic partner, China firmly supports the Nigerian government in leading its people on the development path suited to its national conditions. China firmly opposes any country using religion and human rights as an excuse to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs, and threatening other countries with sanctions and force.” Mao Ning said.
