Nigeria Mining Week 2026 will bring more than 3,000 attendees, over 90 sponsors and exhibitors, and international mining industry leaders to Abuja from October 12 to 14, as Nigeria seeks to attract investment and strengthen its solid minerals sector.
ABUJA, Nigeria — October 10, 2026 — Global investors, mining operators, government representatives and industry experts are set to converge on Abuja for the 11th edition of Nigeria Mining Week 2026, a major industry gathering focused on unlocking investment, strengthening partnerships and promoting growth in Nigeria’s mining sector.
The event will take place from October 12 to 14 at the Abuja Continental Hotel under the theme, “Unlocking Investment and Growth through Partnerships.”
Organised by the Miners Association of Nigeria in partnership with PwC Nigeria, with the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) as transparency partner, the event is expected to attract more than 3,000 attendees and over 90 sponsors and exhibitors.
The programme will bring together international financial institutions, mining companies, equipment manufacturers, government agencies and industry associations to explore opportunities across Nigeria’s gold, steel, critical minerals and broader solid minerals value chains.
Global Investors and Mining Industry Leaders to Attend
Nigeria Mining Week 2026 will feature participants from Africa, Europe and other international markets, highlighting growing interest in investment opportunities and mineral supply chains.
Among the organisations expected to participate are Africa Finance Corporation, the Development Bank of Namibia, the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, the International Lithium Association and Mercuria.
The event will also feature Segilola Resources Operating Limited, a subsidiary of Thor Explorations, and Titan Minerals, alongside representatives of the Ghana and Botswana Chambers of Mines, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the Embassy of Sweden.
Nigeria’s public institutions will be represented by agencies including the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency, Nigerian Investment Promotion Council, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM), National Iron Ore Mining Company and the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.
The participation of these organisations is expected to strengthen discussions around mining investment, international cooperation, transparency, industrial development and the responsible use of Nigeria’s mineral resources.
Nigeria Mining Week Targets Investment and Project Financing
A major highlight of the event is the invitation-only Deal Room scheduled for October 14. The platform is designed to connect mining project owners with financiers, potential buyers, advisers and strategic partners through presentations, investor briefings and one-on-one meetings.
A closed-door Chief Executive Officers’ Roundtable will also take place on October 13, bringing together senior mining executives, financiers and regulators to discuss industry priorities.
Pre-conference roundtables facilitated by PwC Nigeria will focus on challenges facing exploration companies and junior mining operators, including geological data gaps, making exploration projects financially viable and preparing projects to attract investment.
These discussions are particularly relevant as Nigeria seeks to encourage investment in mineral exploration, local processing and the development of commercially viable mining projects.
Critical Minerals, Gold and Steel Take Centre Stage
The 2026 programme includes several forums and technical workshops addressing key areas of the mining industry.
Critical Minerals Forum — October 13: A new addition to the event, this forum will examine Nigeria’s position in global battery, magnet and electric vehicle supply chains, with contributions from CIPE, Benchmark Mineral Intelligence and the International Lithium Association.
Gold Forum — October 14: Discussions will focus on the gold value chain, gold trade and financing, featuring organisations including Segilola, DFR Gold, Africa Finance Corporation and Alt Bank Nigeria.
Steel Forum — October 14: Industry stakeholders will examine opportunities to revitalise integrated steel production, strengthen iron ore supply and develop industrial minerals.
Women in Extractive Industries Forum — October 12: This forum will address technical, operational and leadership opportunities for women across the mining sector.
Technical workshops scheduled for October 13 and 14 will cover portable analytical technology, drill-and-blast optimisation, water stewardship and the development of a commercial gold industry.
Together, the sessions are intended to promote knowledge-sharing, technical capacity and stronger partnerships across the mining value chain.
Global Equipment Manufacturers to Showcase Technology in Abuja
The exhibition will give registered visitors an opportunity to meet equipment manufacturers, technology providers and service companies operating in the mining industry.
Participating brands and organisations include LiuGong, SANY, Sinotruk, SAIC Hongyan, Komatsu through Panafrican Equipment, Wirtgen Group and DEVELON through SCOA Equipment, alongside PRD Rigs, SciAps, Bristol Scientific, Mercuria, NEXIM and Airtel.
A dedicated heavy equipment zone will also allow visitors to explore machinery and services for mining, drilling, mineral processing and laboratory operations.
Exhibition entry will be free for registered visitors on October 13 and 14, offering mining companies, prospective investors and industry professionals opportunities to engage with suppliers and explore available technologies.
Industry Leaders Call for Stronger Partnerships
The President of the Miners Association of Nigeria, HRH Oba Ayandele Olaitan Oyebisi Ayanleke Elegbede, Gbolahan II, emphasised the importance of collaboration in transforming the country’s mining industry.
He noted that no single stakeholder could independently deliver the transformation Nigeria requires, highlighting the importance of moving beyond discussions towards practical outcomes and direct engagement between operators and investors.
Cyril Azobu, Partner and Mining Industry Leader at PwC Nigeria, said Nigeria must position itself as more than a supplier of raw minerals in an increasingly competitive global market.
He stressed the importance of attracting investment into processing and value addition to strengthen Nigeria’s position within global mineral supply chains.
What Nigeria Mining Week 2026 Means for Nigeria
Nigeria’s solid minerals sector presents opportunities for economic diversification, employment, industrial development and increased private-sector investment.
By bringing together financiers, mining operators, policymakers, equipment suppliers and international industry bodies, Nigeria Mining Week 2026 aims to facilitate partnerships that can support the development of commercially viable mining projects.
The event also provides a platform to discuss how Nigeria can improve its mineral value chains, expand local processing capacity and attract investment into critical minerals and other strategic resources.
For Nigeria to maximise these opportunities, industry stakeholders will need to address financing challenges, strengthen technical capabilities, improve project readiness and create an environment that supports responsible and sustainable mining.
