Ghana’s President-Elect Mahama Emphasizes Economic Stability and Collaboration with China

President-Elect of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has revealed his upcoming agenda during a meeting with Tong Defa, the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana.

Highlighting key priorities ahead of assuming office, during a courtesy visit from the Chinese Ambassador, Mr. Mahama emphasised the urgent need to stabilize the economy, bolster the Ghanaian cedi, and curb inflation to ease the financial strain on the populace.

Further, President-Elect Mahama expressed gratitude for Ghana’s partnership with China, particularly in executing a plethora of infrastructure projects with Sinohydro, acknowledging the mutual cooperation between the two nations in various developmental initiatives.

It is also pertinent to state that Ghana’s economy has suffered a serious economic downturn of late and the President elect is head bent to hit the ground running.

Mr. John Mahama as such noted that Ghana will as a matter of urgency resume technical cooperation with China while leveraging on the benefits of FOCAC and the Belt and Road initiatives.
